This is a great craft for an older girls party. *Parents should use the hot glue.
You will need: round clothespins (not clip), silk flowers, chenille-stems (pipe cleaners), tacky glue, glitter, yarn, extra fine sharpie, hot glue* (optional) and imagination!
First take apart the flowers to separate the petal layers. These will become the fairy's skirt.
Slip one or two petals on the clothes pin. Tip: carefully make a tiny slit to enlarge the hole of the petals to fit on the clothespin.
Bend 1/8th inch back on both ends of the chenille. The ends are no longer sharp and these become the fairy's hands. Wrap the chenille around the torso just above the skirt (several times to look like a bodice) and twist in position to look like arms.
Take two leaves from the flowers and tuck them in to the fairy's back. Tip: secure with hot glue. These are her wings. Decorate them with glitter for a sparkly effect.
Add a bit of yarn for hair, draw a smiling face, and even add a plastic "crown" from the silk flower parts! Now all she needs is a fairy name!!
