There is a two hour minimum for all weekend events. Having a small party (10 guests or less)? I also offer temporary or glitter tattoos that are water-proof and last 5-7 days. These are a HUGE hit with all ages - Yes, boys love glitter tattoos also! At smaller parties, I usually spend the 1st hour painting faces and the 2nd hour doing glitter tattoos.
Please be realistic when scheduling your event. Guests will often show up with their siblings and many people forget to (or don’t bother to) RSVP. At parties, I do mostly full-face designs - Please allow enough time for each person to get a quality, detailed design (approx. 5 minutes). Face painting should be a fun, unique experience, not rushed. If all children are painted and there is still time left over, the teens and adults are usually VERY excited to get painted also.
BOOKING POLICY
Your party/event is NOT reserved until a reservation fee has been paid. Although this payment is applied to the total amount owed (the balance is due on the day of your event.) IT IS NOT A DEPOSIT. The reservation fee protects both you and the artist. Without having paid to reserve an entertainer, they could easily cancel on you at the last minute for a better opportunity, leaving you in a bind since everyone else will most likely already be booked solid.
Why is the reservation fee non-refundable and non-transferable? Once you reserve a party, all other inquiries are turned down for that date/time. This means when someone cancels, other bookings for that day (private parties or even festivals) have been turned down and we have now lost the expected income and a lost opportunity. Considering that 95% of events occur on weekends, the potential for income is already very limited without cancellations. Please be certain of the date and time when making your reservation and paying the reservation fee. If you are planning an outdoor event, you should have a back-up plan in place in case the weather does not cooperate. Reservation fees will NOT be refunded or transferred for ANY reason, including, (but not limited to) inclement weather.
If I must cancel a party, a full refund will be issued and a discount offered for your next event. This, of course, would only happen if there is an extreme emergency. I understand how important your event is, and will make EVERY effort to honor our agreement or find you a comparable replacement artist.
Full payment (minus the reservation fee) is expected upon our ARRIVAL at the event.
Children’s Party Entertainment is a skill. As is true with many other professions...“you get what you pay for”. As a Professional Face Painter I am trained, licensed and insured. I use only cosmetic grade, hypoallergenic and non-toxic products that are safe for skin application. No Acrylics! No Craft Paint! You can rest assured that I will arrive on time, and provide quality work, sure to impress your guests and make your event a memorable one. Face painting is not only my business, it’s my passion. I am continuously researching, practicing and learning from the best. Don’t settle for someone that can do a few cheek-art designs and is face painting as a side job. Not only might they use cheap, sub-par supplies (usually acrylics, poster paints or markers meant for crafts, not for skin), but if they are not properly trained (and insured), they may put your guests at risk of infection. Don’t risk the liability.
If you choose to have a face painter at your event, invest in a PROFESSIONAL, you will not regret it! There are no do-overs, you have one chance to make your event a great experience.
Only top-of-the-line cosmetic-grade products that have FDA approved ingredients, and meant for safe application on the skin are used. Professional face paints contain anti~microbrial agents to ensure safety. However, to keep supplies free of contaminates, I will NOT paint anyone that appears to be sick (watery eyes, runny nose, cough), anyone with head-lice, or skin irritations (rash, severe acne, or wound). I also do not paint sleeping children or ANY child that does not wish to be painted.
If you decide at any time to buy your own face paints for home use, please keep in mind that a "Non-Toxic" label does not necessarily mean a product is safe for skin application. Non-Toxic simply means that if you were to ingest the product, it would not poison you.
NEVER use craft paint, poster paints, acrylic paints or markers on your child's skin. It is best to invest in professional face paints. (Although stores sell jars of paint labeled "Face-Paint", the reviews online clearly show that they are sub-par and irritating to the skin).
Most hobby/craft stores like Michael’s, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby carry a brand of face paint called SNAZAROO that is safe and popular with some professionals. Other preferred brands (like Wolfe, TAG, Mehron, Kryolan, Ben Nye, Paradise AQ, etc.), can be found online and in some specialty theatrical-supply stores.
Everyone has different skin - some people are more sensitive than others. As with cosmetics, there isn't a brand in existence that can claim with 100% certainty that no one will have an adverse reaction to their product. If your child's skin reacts to the paint, apply a topical antihistamine like Benadryl lotion. If your child has had skin sensitivities in the past (to soaps and lotions), it is best to ask for a patch test before allowing anyone to apply paint to their face.
It is also important to avoid using glitter that is not specifically labeled "cosmetic-grade". Non-cosmetic (craft) glitter may be made of metal, glass or other sharp materials that can damage the eye. "Cosmetic glitter" is a term used by the make-up industry, for glitter that meets certain standards which are believed to allow for safe usage. These standards include: being made from polyester/plastic, hexagonally shaped particles sized .008 or smaller, and use of pigments which have been generally approved for cosmetic use by the FDA. The FDA does not approve the use of ANY glitter in ANY cosmetics at all. They are currently "monitoring" the situation and not "enforcing" this ruling, but those are the facts. As every major cosmetic company in the world, currently uses glitter in their products, we can only assume and hope that the FDA will eventually approve and adopt specific regulations with regards to cosmetic use of glitter in the near future. All of our glitters are "cosmetic" and do meet industry standards for safety, but if you do not wish to have glitter on your design just say no.
~Most professional face paints have a manufacturers recommendation of 3+ yrs. The main reason for this is because younger skin is still very sensitive and can react adversely to the makeup.
Small children are easily distracted and make sudden movements; This not only compromises the ability to paint a decent design, but it can be very dangerous when there is a pointy paint brush so close to their eyes. An arm design or small stencil on the hand or forehead can sometimes work. At the parents request, I will attempt a simple design (not on their face) on children under 3, but I will stop immediately if they resist in ANY way. Holding them still is NOT an option.
Most children love getting their faces painted, but just like some children do not like Santa, Clowns, Mascots, or Costumed Characters, some don’t like face paint. Sometimes a child will initially say no, then change their mind after seeing everyone else painted; others are simply shy and will refuse altogether. Face painting should be a fun experience. PLEASE - never force a child to get painted and please allow the child to pick the design THEY want. If your ‘princess' wants to be a tiger or a pirate, please don’t talk her into being a butterfly - kids know what they want.
Regardless of age, we will NOT paint a child that is sick, crying or does not want to be painted.
It's make-up! The best way to remove face paint is to apply liquid soap or tear-free shampoo directly to the design. Lightly swirl the soap over the paint, then gently wipe off (do not rub) the paint/soap mixture with a wet washcloth. Most wash off very easily, but some colors may leave a slight stain on the skin. (Everyone’s skin reacts differently. A color that stains one person may not stain someone else.) If after using soap and water, a stain remains - apply lotion, makeup remover, baby oil, coconut oil or baby shampoo to the stained area. Allow the product to sit on the skin for a few minutes, then gently wipe off with a wet washcloth (do not rub) or rinse off with water.
Any stain created on the skin from face paint will eventually wash off or fade away, but fabrics can permanently stain, so please use an old washcloth, not a nice towel. Do NOT allow children to fall asleep or lay their face on any fabric, including pillow cases, couches or car seats.
While many people use babywipes successfully to remove face paint (even myself), it is not recommended. Ingredients in some babywipes combined with the ingredients of some face paints have caused irritation in rare instances. It is best to avoid the risk if possible. If you must use a wipe, non-alcholic, fragrance free are best.
Please also note that some face/body paints will act as a sun-block and some intensify the suns rays. You may get a tan line while wearing facepaint on sunny days.
Businesses planning to promote themselves at Fairs & Festivals, Community Events, and Grand Openings need a way to attract attention and bring people out to see them. Face Painting attracts crowds.

I am asked to donate my services on a VERY regular basis.
So sorry, we do not provide volunteer face painting for charities. Most requests for free face painting will be denied. At most we do 1 event a year to the cause of our choice; normally during the Christmas season.
In this business, 90% of events occur on Saturdays, severely limiting our potential for income from the start. If you do not have an adequate budget for face painting services, please consider finding a Corporate Sponsor. Donated services are NOT tax deductible, and the benefit of "exposure" is not beneficial.
Thank you for understanding.
